Most people see parking as a necessary evil – something to endure before you can do what you actually came for. We believe parking has far greater potential, so we built Proximity to transform the industry into a catalyst for community growth. When parking works seamlessly, cities prosper, businesses thrive, and people spend more time discovering what their neighborhoods have to offer.
A few years ago I was driving downtown and spent twenty minutes trying to log into a brand new parking app I had just been forced to download. The interface was so confusing I nearly gave up and drove home. That day I realized this had become our new normal, happening to millions of people every day, and nothing was being done about it.
Meanwhile, I watched small businesses struggle to reach customers who were parking right outside their doors. Digital advertising was failing them while their actual customers walked past, completely unaware of what was inside.
That’s when it hit me: What if the moment you park could become the moment you discover?
That’s how Proximity was born, not just another parking app, but the bridge between where people are and where they want to be. We turned the universal frustration of parking into an opportunity for local discovery, creating a system that works for drivers, operators, and merchants alike.
I started this company because I believe cities should pull you in, not push you away, and Proximity is here to make that possible.
